The best way to see Cambridge is to utilize the public transit system. The Red Line subway serves as the quick (5 minutes!) and easy link between Boston and Cambridge with stops in Kendall Square, Central Square, Harvard Square, Porter Square and more. The bus system is convenient to all parts of Cambridge and also provides accessibility to Boston.
Boston's MBTA - or the "T" as we call it - is America's first and most complete public transit system. We're proud to trace our history of mobility back to 1631, just as we're proud to carry our tradition of innovation and top-quality service into the new century.
Bus and Subway Service run from 5:15am to 12:30am Monday-Saturday; 6:00am to 12:30am Sundays. Night Owl service runs from 12:30am to 2:30am Friday and Saturday.
Fare for the subway and busses is a one way flat fee regardless of area traveled. Visit an MBTA full-service, in-station fare vending machine to buy a CharlieCard, your T pass to the whole city. For more information visit mbta.com |
